Verizon Media to talk data privacy with ex-Cambridge Analytica exec Brittany Kaiser

Sydney, AUSTRALIA (May 6, 2020) -- This week Verizon Media is bringing Brittany Kaiser, ex-Cambridge Analytica executive and primary subject of Netflix documentary The Great Hack, to ANZ (virtually, of course) for an exclusive live interview on data privacy and digital identity. Kaiser will headline Verizon Media’s Identity Decoded: Privacy or Precision? webinar on Thursday May 7th at 9am AEST / 11am NZST on Zoom.

Looking at a Cookie Apocalypse, government regulations and negative consumer sentiment, Identity Decoded will delve into data privacy and digital identity, and what these industry developments mean for both consumers and brands.

Kaiser, former  Business Development Director at Cambridge Analytica turned data champion, launched the Own Your Data Foundation in 2019 to raise awareness of data rights and promote digital literacy education. An expert in the topic, Kaiser is at the forefront of helping educate consumers, and is working with global marketers to make their practices more transparent.

The 45-minute webinar will feature an exclusive, live fireside chat between Yahoo Finance ANZ Editor-in-Chief Sarah O’Carroll and Kaiser to discuss how the digital landscape is changing for consumers and companies.

In a post-interview panel discussion moderated by Verizon Media ANZ Managing Director Paul Sigaloff, Kaiser will be joined by Optus Chief Marketing Officer Melissa Hopkins and Verizon Media Head of Data Dan Richardson to explore how data privacy is already playing out with leading Australian brands and how they’re engaging customers in a meaningful way.

Paul Sigaloff, Managing Director of Verizon Media ANZ, commented: “We’re very excited to bring Brittany Kaiser, a leading figure in the global push to educate consumers around data, to the screens of Australian and New Zealand industry colleagues. With consumers being asked to share data in the battle against COVID-19, the need for open and honest conversations has never been greater.”
