For the first time, Verizon Media and RYOT Studio developed a fully 5G-powered campaign, delivering Verizon’s 5G Holiday Market to shoppers’ devices. Users were prompted to step into a holiday-themed Verizon store where they could fully interact with phones, watches, and speakers in augmented reality. That meant tapping, spinning, rotating, and purchasing products on the spot.
The Holiday Market was housed on both a 4G and 5G portal, ensuring that both sets of mobile users were able to interact with the storefront. The 5G version of the experience featured additional layers of excitement as only 5G can, with AR gift unwrapping and extra holiday graphics to showcase the power of Verizon’s products.
Of course, an experience this memorable is best when shared - and the RYOT Studio team built features that allowed users to record a festive holiday message complete with reindeer antlers, or send an AR gift directly to family and friends.
After interacting with the magic of the Holiday Market, users were able to complete their transactions on verizonwireless.com for a seamless e-commerce experience.
To get the word out about this pioneering partnership and campaign, the Verizon Media team crafted several layers of traffic drivers including the first-ever 5G device targeted native ads, a rich TechCrunch interactive gift guide, and a PR video so sizzling it could melt winter snow.
