Yahoo Fantasy Slate Official Rules

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. Yahoo Fantasy Slate by Yahoo Sports (the "Contest") is sponsored by Yahoo Inc. ("Sponsor"). The Contest is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Apple Inc., Google Inc. or their subsidiaries or affiliates.

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS:

Your participation in the Contest constitutes your acceptance of the Yahoo Terms of Use (the “Terms”), which are incorporated into these Official Rules by reference. Capitalized terms not defined in these Official Rules have the meanings ascribed to them in the Terms. For purposes of clarity, the Contest is a Service as defined in the Terms. In the event of a conflict between these Official Rules and the Terms, these Official Rules shall control.

ELIGIBILITY:

Subject to these Official Rules, the Contest is open to individual persons who are at least 18 years old as of the date of entry. To be eligible to receive a Prize (as defined below), the information associated with the entrant’s account must be true and accurate. The information associated with the entrant’s account must identify the actual entrant into the Contest.

The Contest is only open to legal residents of the United States. Any person that enters into a Contest that he/she is not eligible to enter may not win a Prize (as defined below) in that Contest.

Sponsor reserves the right to verify an entrant’s eligibility before, during, or after the Contest. You may also be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility as proof of your eligibility to participate in the Contest. You will be required to provide this information within ten (10) days after Sponsor first attempts to contact you. If you fail to comply with this deadline, Sponsor may disqualify you from further participation, and withhold or revoke any prizes at its sole discretion.

Employees and agents of Sponsor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies, any other prize sponsor and any entity involved in the development, production, implementation, administration or fulfillment of the Contest (all the foregoing, together with Sponsor, collectively referred to as “Contest Entities”), and the immediate family members and persons living in the same household as any of the above may not participate in any publicly available Contests with prizes except for purposes of testing the user experience on a limited basis.

Athletes, coaches, and other team management, team support personnel, and team owners are not eligible for the Contest if the Contest includes questions relating to the sport or sports in which their team competes. Team owners, referees, league employees, sports commissioners, sports agents and other individuals who, through an ownership interest or game-related employment, can influence gameplay in an event related to a Contest question are also ineligible.

ENTRY PERIOD:

Episodes of the Contest will be announced through the Yahoo Sports App (the “App”) from time to time. You may join the Contest while the stated entry period is open. The entry period will close prior to the start of the first event that is related to the applicable Contest.

HOW TO ENTER:

No purchase or payment is necessary to participate in the Contest. Enter the Contest by completing each of the following steps:

1. Download or open the App downloaded through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store on your mobile device, and either (a) if you already have a Yahoo account, log into your existing Yahoo account, or (b) if you do not already have a Yahoo account, sign up for a Yahoo account. Message and data rates may apply to use of mobile device for entry.

2. Click on any of the promos for Yahoo Fantasy Slate and enter the Contest home screen.

3. You will be able to join a Contest if a Contest is open. You will have until the Contest lock time (displayed on the Contest home screen) to submit an answer for each question. You must answer all of the questions in the Contest in order for your entry to be valid and eligible to win a Prize.

A valid Yahoo account is required to participate in the Contest. If you do not have a Yahoo account, you will be prompted to sign up for one before being permitted to enter or participate in a Contest. Please ensure that your contact information is accurate, up-to-date, and complete. This information is mandatory if you wish to be eligible to win and collect prizes. A user who has not provided valid registration information will automatically be deemed ineligible and will not be considered for a prize. A valid PayPal account is also required to collect a prize. A PayPal account may only be associated with a single Yahoo account.

Please note that the Contests may only be played under the Yahoo account with which they were created or entered, and may not be transferred to another Yahoo account or played by another person. Also, you may not share an account with another person or allow another user to play under your Yahoo account. Likewise, you may not enter a Contest on behalf of someone without a Yahoo account, or that is ineligible to participate in the Contest. As a rule, each Contest entrant is allowed to play under one Yahoo account. It is at Sponsor’s sole discretion and judgment to determine whether multiple Yahoo accounts belong to the same entrant. If you are found to be participating in the Contests using more than one Yahoo account, such penalties may include, but are not limited to, disqualification from current and future Contests and forfeiture of any past, current, or future winnings. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the holder of the Yahoo ID associated with a particular entry, the dispute will be resolved in favor of the individual who is the authorized holder of the Yahoo ID and password associated with the account (based upon information submitted at the time the account was created or updated upon registration for this Contest), and, if available, the "authorized email account holder" of the "alternate email address" provided when the Yahoo ID was created. "Authorized email account holder" is defined as the natural person assigned an email address by an internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization (i.e., business, educational institution) responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. If there is a discrepancy between the name of the person listed as the authorized holder of the Yahoo ID, and the authorized email account holder of the alternate email address provided when the Yahoo ID was created, that Yahoo ID will be disqualified and any potential prize will be forfeited. A potential Prize winner may be required to provide Contest Entities with proof that he/she is the authorized account holder for each of the credentials described above.

PRIZES:

The winner of each Contest match will receive a cash prize, determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion (the "Prize"). The amount of the Prize shall be established and made known to Contest entrants in advance of each Contest and shall be listed on the Contest page in the App. In the case of multiple winners (as explained below), such players will split the Prize evenly. The total of all accrued Prizes you have won may be viewed through the App. To receive payment of your accrued Prizes, you must cash-out Prizes via PayPal, a third party service. Prize fulfillment will be subject to the terms, conditions, and privacy policies of PayPal, located at https://www.paypal.com . In certain instances involving larger Prizes, you will be contacted directly by Sponsor or a Contest Entity, who will arrange prize fulfillment at their sole discretion in accordance with these Official Rules and the Terms.

Sponsor uses your account information to contact and verify winners. Out of date or incorrect account information at the time you enter a Contest may disqualify you from receiving a Prize. Failure to provide valid, working contact information in connection with your account may result in termination of that Yahoo account and forfeiture of any Prizes awarded.

Sponsor expressly reserves the right to disqualify any entries that it believes in good faith are generated by an automated means or scripts or that violate any of these Contest Rules or the Terms of Use. Entries generated by script, macro or other automated means are void.

Decisions of the Sponsor are final and binding with respect to all matters related to the Contest. In no event shall the Sponsor be obligated to award any Prizes other than the Prize specified in these Official Rules. The Sponsor does not guarantee that the Prize can be made available to the winner. The Prize is not assignable and not transferable and no substitutions are permitted. In addition, if the Prize is unable to be fulfilled to the winner due to any applicable law, rule or regulation, or if the winner cannot claim the Prize for any reason, then Sponsor reserves the right to not award the Prize at all. The winner shall be responsible and liable for all federal, state and local taxes on the value of the Prize. Winners shall provide Sponsor with accurate information regarding their identity and country of residence. To receive a complete list of winners, send a self-addressed stamped envelope (specifying which Contest(s) you are requesting the winner(s) of) to Yahoo Inc., Attn: Yahoo Fantasy Slate, 770 Broadway, New York, NY 10003, USA.

If you are a winner, you may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release. You will be required to provide this information within ten (10) days after Sponsor first attempts to contact you. If you fail to comply with this deadline, or if a prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, Sponsor may disqualify you from further participation, and withhold or revoke any prizes at its sole discretion.

A winner may also be required to provide additional documentation (such as social security number) in order to comply with tax and other legal reporting requirements. Each winner may receive an IRS Form 1099 for the value of the prize awarded. Contest Entities expressly disclaim any responsibility or liability for injury or loss to any person or property relating to the delivery and/or subsequent use of the prizes awarded. Contest Entities make no representations or warranties concerning the appearance, safety, or performance of any prize awarded. Any unclaimed prizes will not be awarded. Restrictions, conditions, and limitations apply. Contest Entities will not replace any lost or stolen prize items.

SELECTION OF WINNER(S) AND PRIZE ALLOCATION:

The winner of the Contest will be the person who answers the most questions correctly out of all entrants in the Contest. If there is a tie and more than one entrant has answered the most questions correctly, all such entrants will be considered winners and the prize will amount awarded to each winner will be equal to the total prize amount for the Contest divided by the number of winners, rounded to the nearest cent; provided, however, that if the number of winners is so large that the amount that would be awarded to each winner is less than $0.01, no Prize will be awarded for such Contest.

The Contest will be conducted under the supervision of the Sponsor. The decisions of the Sponsor are final and binding in all matters relating to this Contest. The winner will be notified in the App; provided, however, that Sponsor reserves the right to determine an alternate method of notification. If an entrant is found to be ineligible, Sponsor may, at its option and sole discretion, choose not to award the Prize (or that portion of the Prize in the event of a tie) at all.

ACCESSING FUNDS:

Entrants may access cash prize winnings from their Yahoo account once funds have settled. Requests for access to funds will be honored by the later of five business days of the request or ten business days of the submission of any tax reporting documentation required by applicable law, unless Sponsor believes in good faith that the Entrant engaged in fraudulent conduct or other conduct that would cause Sponsor to be in violation of applicable law. Available funds will be credited directly into the entrant's PayPal account, or such other means as Sponsor determines in its sole discretion. CONDUCT:

By entering the Contest, entrant agrees to these Official Rules and to be bound by the decisions of the Contest Entities, which are final and binding in all respects. Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be (a) tampering or attempting to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or any Yahoo or Yahoo website; (b) violating these Official Rules, the Terms, or any other guidelines, rules, or instructions associated with the Contest; (c) violating the terms of service, conditions of use and/or general rules or guidelines of any other Yahoo product or service; or (d) acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.

Actions deemed as improper conduct include, but are not limited to, those actions outlined in the “Member Conduct” section of the Terms, as well as the following:

Providing false information about your eligibility to enter Contests and collect prizes

Using any automated services or routines including, but not limited to, robots, web crawlers, spiders, ants, and scrapers to access and/or collect information on any of Sponsor’s site without explicit written consent from Sponsor; this includes uploading, editing or otherwise modifying Contest entries using any automated scripts or tools or otherwise interacting with the Contest using methods or technology other than the Sponsor-provided interface and technology

Attempting to abuse, as determined solely at Sponsor’s discretion, promotions

Attempting to tamper with, or alter a real-life sporting event that is directly connected with the Contest in which you have direct involvement or interest

Selling any stakes in your own play, buying stakes in other entrants, or other means of redistributing winnings based on pre-existing agreements or relationships with other entrants

If you create a Yahoo account name or nickname that Sponsor deems, in its sole discretion, to be abusive, defamatory, harassing, hateful, indecent, objectionable, offensive, or vulgar, we reserve the right to cancel any Contest you created, cancel any of your Contest entries, and block your Yahoo account from any future activity.

Please note that a violation of these Official Rules, the Terms, conditions of use, and/or the general guidelines of any product or service of Sponsor may be enforced against all other activities associated with the offending Yahoo account. If your Yahoo account is found to be in violation of the terms of service or official rules of another product or service provided by Sponsor, that violation is grounds for Sponsor to suspend or terminate your access to all products or services played under your Yahoo account - including the Contest. Your potential winnings may be forfeited if Sponsor cancels any of your Contest entries, or blocks your Yahoo account from any future activity as result of your violation of these Official Rules.

CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR MOBILE APPLICATION OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO IMMEDIATELY TERMINATE THE ENTRANT’S ACCOUNT, IF ANY, AND SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

PUBLICITY AND ENTRANT IDENTIFICATION:

Sponsor reserves the right to identify and label players who meet certain criteria (including but not limited to frequency of play, frequency of wins) in a manner visible to other players. Such criteria and labels will be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion and may be changed or modified at any time, with or without notice, by Sponsor.

Participation in the Contest and acceptance of Prizes constitutes each winner’s permission for the Contest Entities to use his/her name, address (city and state), likeness, photograph, picture, portrait, voice, biographical information, and/or any statements made by each winner regarding the Contest, Yahoo Sports, Yahoo, or Sponsor for advertising purposes, promotional purposes, and such other purposes as Sponsor deems appropriate (including, without limitation, placing the winner’s name or username on a winner’s list), without notice or additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. Additionally, Sponsor may request that you sign and return a publicity release to confirm your grant of rights to Yahoo hereunder.

GENERAL CONDITIONS AND RELEASES:

Notice to all entrants: By entering the Contest or accepting a Prize, you agree to conform to all federal, state and local laws and regulations. The winner may be required in Sponsor’s sole discretion to complete relevant tax forms as a condition to the delivery of the applicable Prize. Winner may also be required to furnish proof of identity, address and birth date in order to receive a Prize.

An entrant or winner may be disqualified from the Contest if he or she fails to comply with any provision of these Official Rules or Sponsor’s Terms, as determined in the sole discretion of the Sponsor. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may disqualify you from a Contest, refuse to award Prizes and require the return of any Prizes, or suspend, limit, or terminate your account if you engage in conduct Sponsor deems, in its sole discretion, to be improper, unfair, fraudulent or otherwise adverse to the operation of Contests or in any way detrimental to other users. Improper conduct includes, but is not limited to: Falsifying personal information, including payment information, required to claim a Prize; violating eligible payment method terms, including the terms of any cash rewards payment card, violating any of these Rules, using unauthorized methods such as unauthorized scripts or other automated means; tampering with the administration of the Contest or trying to in any way tamper with the computer programs associated with the Contests; obtaining other entrants’ information and spamming other entrants; and any other form of abuse; or otherwise violating these Rules. You acknowledge that the forfeiture and/or return of any Prize shall in no way prevent Sponsor from informing the relevant authorities, and/or pursuing criminal or civil proceedings in connection with such conduct.

Participation in the Contest is at entrant’s own risk. Sponsor shall not be liable for: (1) failed, returned or misdirected notifications based on inaccurate information provided by the winner in connection with an entry; (2) entries and responses to winner notifications which are lost, late, incomplete, illegible, unintelligible, postage-due, misdirected, damaged or otherwise not received by the intended recipient in whole or in part or for computer or technical error of any kind; (3) any electronic miscommunications or failures, technical hardware or software failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions which may limit an entrant's ability to participate in the Contest; (4) any technical malfunctions of the telephone network, computer on-line system, computer equipment, software, program malfunctions or other failures, delayed computer transactions or network connections that are human, mechanical or technical in nature, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer or mobile device related to or resulting from downloading the App or otherwise in connection with this Contest; or (5) any warranty with respect to any Prize or any component thereof.

Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with the Contest may be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate, modify, cancel or suspend the Contest should viruses, bugs or other causes beyond its control corrupt the administration, security or proper operation of the Contest. If any provision of these Official Rules is held to be illegal or unenforceable, such provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Rules otherwise remain in full force and effect and enforceable.
