Variety Launches Variety500

An index of the 500 global leaders shaping the $2 trillion entertainment industry

LOS ANGELES, SEPTEMBER 26, 2017 – Variety, the iconic entertainment business news media company, announced today the launch of the Variety500. The website and journal features an unranked list of the top 500 global leaders in the entertainment industry. Updated annually, this “index of influence” reflects the accomplishments of its members over the last 12 months. The 500 professionals are selected by Variety’s esteemed editorial board which conducted extensive research.

Categories include moguls, executives, producers, artists, representatives (includes agents, managers and attorneys) and financiers across film, television, technology, music, gaming and live entertainment. Each entry contains biographical information, education, philanthropies, photos, social links and select video. The highly searchable database allows users to sort by name, company, media category, job function, country of residence and country of citizenship.

Accompanying the launch of the website is a printed journal distributed to Variety subscribers. In addition to the digital and printed versions of the index and database, Variety will spotlight Variety500 members across their social properties and in Variety Insider email newsletter detailing Variety’s top daily news stories.
