NEW YORK, NY – January 30, 2018 – Female storytelling platform and feminist media brand MAKERS announced today that a special panel with representatives of TIME'S UP including: Maha Dakhil, Rashida Jones, Melina Matsoukas, Katie McGrath, Natalie Portman, Nina Shaw, Jill Soloway and Tina Tchen, will join the lineup of the highly-anticipated 2018 MAKERS Conference on Monday, February 5 in Los Angeles.
TIME'S UP is a unified call for change for women everywhere. The campaign addresses systemic inequality and injustice in the workplace that has kept underrepresented groups from reaching their full potential. Since launching, TIME'S UP has focused on action—raising nearly 20 million dollars for the TIME'S UP Legal Defense Fund (TULDF). Housed at and administered by the National Women's Law Center, TULDF helps women and men who face workplace sexual harassment connect with legal representation and public relations assistance. From movie sets to farm fields to boardrooms alike, the TIME'S UP movement envisions a nationwide leadership that reflects the world in which we live.
MAKERS also announced today that Liza Koshy, Lydia Polgreen, Gabourey Sidibe, Amber Tamblyn, Lily Tomlin, Abby Wambach & Glennon Doyle have joined the group of inspiring women and men scheduled to raise their voice at this year's conference. Engaging in conversations on sexual harassment, equal pay, representation in tech and the hidden figures of history, Conference participants will lead powerful dialogues throughout the three-day, #RaiseYourVoice event February 5-7, 2018 at the NeueHouse Hollywood in Los Angeles, California.
"It's exciting to watch a new movement in the making," said Dyllan McGee, Founder and Executive Producer of MAKERS.
